Luke and Jessica 10.03.09

I have had the honor and privilege of knowing Jessica since we were in middle school.  We grew up going to the same camp and saw each other every summer.  Later in life I learned that she would be going to Northwestern college and became one of my sister’s best friends; we were able to see each other on a more regular basis.  When she told me in March that she was engaged, I was so happy for her and Luke.  The two of them met through mutual friends and hit it off right away when they found out that they were both in ministry.

They are an amazing couple and had an amazing day for photos.  Throughout the morning it was off and on raining, but when we hit our period to shoot downtown photos, God smiled upon us and held off the rain from the time we started until the time we finished.  Literally as we were getting into our cars the rain became a slight mist into constant drizzle for the rest of the day!

We were able to hit the very end of the mill city farmers market.  We walked through the area and found a lot to shoot.jess and luke 18jess and luke 22jess and luke 23jess and luke 15jess and luke 12jess and luke 4jess and luke 2jess and luke 1jess and luke 5

We ended the day with a big ” We did it!”  Congrats to both of you, may the Lord make His face shine down upon you as you enter this beautiful covenant called marriage.

    i heart faces… week 40

    i heart faces- adults

Excited is the theme of the week.  I was going through archives to find a photo.  This is a bride that I shot in 2007, she was extremely EXTACTIC that it was her wedding day.  It was raining so hard before we went out to shoot photos downtown and she insisted we stick to the plan.  I was pumped because she was more than willing to have a great time despite the weather.  “You only get married once, might as well have fun.” were her words for the day.   Thankfully the rain cleared for just about an hour and we were able to get the shots she wanted.  Again, I have to say, I love my job!Lexi & Sam159_edited-1

    Andy and Maria 08.22.09

Andy and I grew up going to the same church, and crazy enough, his dad was my pastor for a number of years.  So when he called to say that he was getting married and was looking for a photographer, I nearly jumped out of my seat I was so excited.  His beautiful bride Maria is one of the sweetest girls and perfect match for him.  We laughed a lot together and the day was absolutely perfect for a wedding.

      Nick and Caeli 08.21.09

Calei is one of the sweetest girls I have ever met.  I think Nick knew just how lucky he was when he couldn’t wipe the smile from his face!  We started the day off by doing some getting ready photos at the church which was then followed by the mass .  After the ceremony, we headed out on a trolley around the lakes to the Lake Harriet rose gardens, where we all just kicked back and had a great time.  Edina Country Club hosted the party that followed.  Martha, Caeli’s mother, did not miss a detail by incorporating daisy’s that Caeli loves, crates that Nick’s family makes and sells, t-shirts with the couple’s names and wedding date as favors, and apples as place cards.  It was a photographer’s haven!  Thank you to both of you and your families.  I felt so much like a friend invited to the wedding.  Your love emanates to all those around you.

        James and Kelsey 08.15.09

I have been overly blessed and taken care of by all my brides and grooms this season.  Kelsey and James were no exception.  I felt like a life-long friend of the couple’s by the way they made sure that I was included.  They went above and beyond a photographer’s dream, by whipping out the golf clubs and the basketball.  I didn’t realize how competitive they both were until we hit up the “court” and they did a face off with Kelsey’s dad, and former coach playing ref!  You are both a beautiful sight! Thanks so much to both of you for allowing me to be a part of your big day!james kels 25james kels 24james kels 23james kels 22james kels 21

I have to make this side note; I just about cried when I saw Kelsey’s dress; ok more like squealed because it was SO beautiful!  I am a HUGE fan of bows (my sister totally makes fun of me for it) but the bow, she just added for an extra touch, and it fit her style!

Mr. Gordon pulled out the basketball just to add a little fun to the photo session, I was grateful he did!james kels 14
