Why I meet and reach out to other vendors

As a business, it is easy to meet and connect with my clients.  I actually require it either over a FaceTime or Zoom meeting or in person of all my clients because I want to make sure that we are a good fit for one another for the wedding day.  I want to really get to know their personalities as a couple, as well as for them to get to know me as a photographer and a person.  I don’t want any surprises to come for my clients in what they are receiving from me or what I deliver.  It makes sense.

But there are other people that I also meet with on a regular basis, and that is the other vendors that are working in the wedding industry.  Not only other florists, event planners and bands, but other photographers. This not only brings community to the industry, but also allows me to personally meet people I want to refer!

I have loved getting to know some incredible people in the industry through a few different networking events, meetings for coffee and Chipolte, and online meetings. Clubhouse has also been a game changer for me. I am loving this app and the way I am able to hear and interact with everyday people from all over the world doing the same thing I am doing!

If you are a vendor and we haven’t yet connected, please reach out.I would love to meet you in person or online!!

The Loft at Studio J, Stillwater:: Wedding

Both Teddy and Sophia had mutual friends in high school, but the two had never crossed paths until their senior year. She started crushing on him at the start of the year and they finally talked to each other on Halloween. Clicking right away, the two began talking and a few weeks later went on their first date.

Since then, they graduated from high school and both attended the University or Minnesota where they both studied, made lifelong friends and gained priceless memories. Sophia and Teddy have traveled to California, Oregon, Texas, Maine, Colorado, Illinois and Utah together.

In the winter of 2020, Teddy and Sophia went to his parents cabin. On the morning of New Years Eve, Teddy woke Sophia up early. After going on a walk and taking a dip in the the sauna, he suggested she take a little nap. Little did she know that while she was napping, he was setting up the proposal. When she woke up, Sophia walked out to the living room where she saw candles, flowers and Teddy in the middle of it all on one knee.

Having friends and family together again was so exciting for Sophia and Teddy and they were so happy to finally be able to celebrate with them. The Loft at Studio J was a perfect location for their April wedding day. This historic industrial building in the beautiful city of Stillwater was a perfect location for both indoor and outdoor photos. Sophia’s lace dress from A&Be Bridal was even more beautiful when paired with the sage bridesmaid dresses from Birdy Grey. Lakeside floral created the most incredible bouquets which held white and melon roses and a variety of greens . Around Sophia’s bouquet, a small pendant from her great grandmother who immigrated to America from Ireland was perfectly placed. Teddy and his groomsmen sported classic black suits with black ties from Atmosfere. Each beautifully decorated table was numbered with a photo of Sophia and Teddy at the age in which the table number was. A blank sheet of paper was also placed at each table so that together guests could write a letter for Sophia and Teddy to open at their future anniversaries. Bella Vida served a tasty meal while Cakealicious provided an incredible cake and sweet cupcakes for the guests. Joe from Day One DJ welcomed the couple and guests to the dance floor and the party began and did not stop until the night was over and there was even a guest song sung by Teddy’s uncle.

Sophia and Teddy, thank you for an incredible day and congratulations! I can’t wait to see where life takes you as you explore many more places together and celebrate your honeymoon in Italy and Greece. Happy wedding day!

Bearpath Country Club, Eden Prairie:: Wedding

As college athletes, Jake and Hannah’s paths crossed as mutual friends introduced them in a dorm room while they were both attending college in South Dakota. They two quickly became friends and hung out throughout the year until Jake eventually asked Hannah to a movie and the two quickly became an item. They dated throughout college and graduated together, and purchased a home together.

Hannah decided to go to Charlotte, NC to celebrate Christmas with her extended family. Jake was caught up with work and couldn’t go with her. Hannah was determined to have a great time while she was there and the firs night, the girls took her out for sushi and a movie. Upon returning to the house, the entire basement was decorated with lights and signs with Jake in the middle with a ring. Hannah was utterly surprised and realized her family was all in on the surprise proposal. They were all able to celebrate with cake and champagne together that evening.

Like many couples of 2020, Jake and Hannah were supposed to be wed in July, but Covid uprooted their plans and they had to change venues and their date. The two decided on the beautiful Bearpath Country Club in Eden Prairie. Their July day was a beautiful summer day with a slight breeze and incredible group of people to celebrate with.

Hannah wore a beautiful lace gown from Effe’s Bridal Trunk while her bridesmaids wore deep red dresses from the Wedding Shoppe with beautiful florals created by Christine’s Floral Touch. Jake and his groomsmen, many that he played college football with, were in black tuxes from Men’s Warehouse which were fitting for the day. Hannah’s aunt, who has overcome cancer, married the couple in a tear jerking ceremony and one of her cousins sang beautifully. The club catered an incredible meal while Farina Baking Company brought in an incredible cake and macaroons and sweets for desserts. Hannah’s father, who had a heart attack only four months earlier, brought a speech that left no dry eye in the place and ended with joyful laughter had by all.Their wedding party was incredible to be with, and SO much fun! Bellagala welcomed the couple to the dance floor and the party began and did not stop until the night was over.

It was an incredible day. Thank you Hannah and Jake for including me in it. Cheers to many years of blissful love!

        Cottage Grove:: Micro Wedding

To those that love a good love story, Heather and Ryan’s as one for the books! Meeting when they were only 15 years old, Heather and Ryan commuted back-and-forth from Inver Grove Heights to Saint Paul to see one another. Their relationship continued throughout high school and into college, bringing prom, graduation, college graduation, moves to and from other states to finally getting married back in the house Heather grew up in.

Both Heather and Ryan decided to have just close friends and family present with them on their wedding day in August and plan to celebrate with their friends and extended family next year.

The couple decided to do their first look in Heather‘s backyard where the ceremony would be, and a day predicted of only rain, finally let up and the sun peaked through for a few moments to bring glorious relief to the day. We then traveled to Como Park and Conservatory, the place where Heather and Ryan did their prom pictures, for photos of the two of them together.

We then headed back to Heather‘s family‘s home where Ryan and Heather were wed. The couple then celebrated with authentic Indian food, memories and laughter with family and friends.

Heather and Ryan, I look forward to celebrating again with you next year, congratulations!

American Club, Kohler WI Wedding:: Meghan & Mark

Their story story involves a dating app, a naked bike ride, a few cocktails, and great company. Meghan and Mark met after linking up on a dating app. Neither one knew who made the first move, but they are certainly happy one did. The couple headed to Dry Hop, a local brewery, for a drink and bite to eat. Laughter definitely took over when they looked out the window and saw hundreds of people biking down Broadway Avenue, sans clothes. They both knew they had something special because of the lighthearted nature each-other possessed. Mark had the ability to swoon Meg with his knowledge of literally everything, and Meg kepy Mark interested by challenging him to some friendly (read–competitive) trivia.

Many dates later, Meghan and Mark are still laughing and totally in love! In October of 2019, they decided to take a trip to visit some Bourbon distilleries in Louisville, Kentucky to celebrate our birthdays. (Meghan had a belated celebration as her MOH had a wedding on her birthday!) While in Kentucky, Mark proposed and Meghan said yes! (-Taken from their wedding web-site)

Meghan and Mark had planned to get married in 2020, but like many couples, had to rethink their wedding day. Because the couple resides in Chicago and Meghan’s parents are in Minneapolis, the couple decided to do a destination wedding in at The American Club in Kohler, Wisconsin. The beautiful lake town that hugs Lake Michigan was a perfect location for a long weekend of celebrating with friends and family from near and far.

Their July wedding day was a beautiful one. Mark and Megan got ready at The American Club. With its spectacular views and stunning landscape, there was not a bad place for photos. The Kohler Spa did Meghan and her bridesmaids hair and make up. Meghan wore a beautiful satin Romona Kevaza gown purchased from Annika Bridal Boutique while her bridesmaids wore stunning baby blue Lula Kate gowns from Bella Bridesmaids.

Mark and his groomsmen got ready in their Brooks Brothers attire and monogramed sleeves while toasting Bourbon and shooting pool. Not one detail was overlooked as Meghan’s mother, Mary, planned an incredible day. Meghan and Marks’ monogram was displayed throughout the wedding day in everything from the ribbons on the bridesmaids flowers to the cake to the floor logo to each napkin the guests received at their place setting. Their beautiful wedding invitations designed by Kate Murphy, displayed a beautiful American Club in watercolor. Meghan and her father were escorted to the church ins a white classic Cadillac driven by Lee of Lee’s Classic Cars.

The coupe was wed at the beautiful and historic Holy Name Catholic Church, and then headed to the lakefront in a classic trolley and then Blackwolf Run Golf Course for photos. Upon arriving to their social hour, the couple celebrated with guests as they served their signature drinks and Lief Larson painted an exquisite piece for the couple as the reception was going on.

Meghan and Mark chose to do an East Coast style reception. Bella Diva’s Entertainment welcomed the new couple in to their first dance and then guests joined on the dance floor for a few dances. Meghan’s father gave a heart-wrenching speech, and guests broke into laughter as the maid of honor and best man gave tribute to Meghan and Mark. Cody and Tory of Exist Media captured the entire day for the couple.

Meghan and Mark, it was a joy to spend the day with you. Congratulations and best wishes to many happy years together!
