Living in the moment

There are so many different things we race around for in life. Ways that the social media world tells us that we have to be somebody big and exciting and amazing. We have to get more hearts, dot our i’s and cross our t’s, keep the streak going. We have to be put together, up with all the trends and be invested in all the camps, sports and activities for our kids.

We try so desperately to keep searching for the “more” and quite honestly; its exhausting!

But what if in reality that “more” we are so desperately grasping for is right in front of our faces disappearing as we search?

The little people we are investing into, the husband or wife that wants to be known, or the friend who needs a listening ear; the things that will last. Be permininant.

These are the things that need to be preserved. The years and the memories of a life well spent together. This is the “more” we need to find together and push one another toward. Who’s with me?

    Edina Newborn Session:: Alexander

    Oh what a joy it always is to see families over the years. Adding a new baby is always a great excuse to get family photos done and capture the newness of these stages.

    I loved meeting sweet Alexander and seeing his family again. Katerena’s Edina home was a beautiful space to capture the session. She and her husband Dan, were sweet and so very kind to invite me in.

    The sweetness of Will loving and wanting to protect his baby brother almost made me want another baby… almost!

    What a blessing it is to see these families, I do look forward to seeing them again in the future!

      Minnetonka Family Session:: Beyzak Family

      I think it is clearly safe to say that besides weddings, families are some of my favorite sessions to do. There is nothing more rewarding to me than photographing an engagement session for a couple, their wedding and then the births of multiple kiddos. For the Beyzak family I have been so blessed to do that for them through the years. Capturing them this time around was no different from any of our other times; they just get richer and richer!

        Maple Grove One Year Session:: Ethan turns one

        Put a cake in front of any one year old and you never know what you might get. You may get a huge smash and hands deep in the sugary mess, or you may get the complete opposite, tears and not wanting to get messy! I have seen it all and either way it is so stinkin’ cute. Keep scrolling to see how Ethan reacted to turning one!

          Minneapolis Family Session:: Getchus Family

          Every year for the past five years I have been able to photograph the Getchus family. It has been SUCH a joy to watch Gavin grow and mature, and connect with his parents, Jackie and Tom. After years of having the same families, I feel like we are friends and I will often linger and hear how life is really going with these families. I am so grateful for this sweet family and look forward to seeing many families like them in 2019!
