St. Paul Family:: Shannon Family

What do you get when you have an uber talented social media manager (and friend!), her sweet family in studio, and a new kitten?!

A bunch of beautiful photos!

I’m so lucky to have Susan first as a friend, and secondly as my social media manager. She is incredible at her job and made my busy season so much more tolerable. (Check out her web-site HERE!) Because she was managing my social platforms, we hardly got to see each other in person this fall, so bringing her family into the studio was a joy for both of us to see each other in person and give each other a squeeze! Because I am in my slow season, she is taking a break from managing my social platforms right now, but you better believe come May, she will be back on as I enter another beautiful busy season. For now, enjoy these sweet photos of Susan and her family!

Fall is such a glorious and beautiful time and I absolutely love shooting in the golden light of the afternoon. This afternoon was even more special because I was ably to share it with the sweet Schroeder family! Last year Michelle and Hector got some incredible news; they would be having twins! Adding to their family, which already held a then 3 year old, they knew it would not be easy but it would be God’s beautiful plan! In March I was able to do the twins newborn session which was so much fun, and this past fall, we met at Millennium Gardens (an incredible location any time of the year!) to do their family session. We had such a beautiful fall day for their session. I love seeing families grow and change, it is an incredible gift!

Lydia:: Plymouth Newborn Session

It’s hard to believe that at one point I did not care to take newborn photos. I think because I was under the impression that they had to be the Anne Geddies babies, with cute outfits and hats and wraps on. Now don’t get me wrong, I adore those photos, but Newborn sessions like that take a lot of time. You can not tell a baby when to sleep, you simply must wait. Now though, I have let myself be more free when photographing newborns and this is what a lifestyle newborn session entails. There is less of that pressure to get baby sleeping, but the flexibility to photograph the baby and family in their own environment as they are interacting together.

Sweet little Lydia was a joy to photograph. Not only did I love this session because she shares the name of my oldest daughter, but I was able to photograph Jenny and Matt’s wedding last year and to see them enter into this beautiful stage of parenthood was a complete and utter joy!

Rob and Sarah’s wedding day was a beautiful blend of faith, family, and thoughtful design. Inspired by Monet’s garden paintings, their celebration was filled with soft spring colors, meaningful heirlooms, and intentional details at every turn.

After a joyful ceremony at Eagle Brook Church, surrounded by family and friends, they celebrated the night away at Silverwood Park with beautiful florals, heartfelt speeches, lakeside portraits, and dancing.

One of my favorite details? Sarah changed into her mother’s wedding dress for the reception, while flowers made from that same gown were sewn into her veil.
